Coat Closet makeover for the Littles

Wednesday, February 19, 2014

I've been wanting to make our coat closet into a little storage cubby for the boys for quite sometime.   The mudroom is so close to being done we just have some crown molding to put up and the flooring. We have hooks and a coat rack up to hang our coats so we went ahead and moved in. Then my sad empty coat closet was calling for a makeover so I decided to do a quick shelving project.

Scotty's honey do list has been full since we've moved, so I decided to give him a break and crank this one out.  I used our old closet doors from our master bedroom for the shelves.  I got out my tape measure, level, wood screws, stud finder and even used a saw, this little project took me about an hour to do.  I'm pretty pleased with how it looks and the time and effort it took!
Here's the before.....
And the AFTER.....There is so much more storage now!! I love that after the kids are done playing for the day I have a place to put away there toys. It's so nice to have an hour or two without a toy in sight!!

It's a little mini desk for my Fisher bug!!
I love how it uses the whole closet space from floor to ceiling.  It feels so good to be able to start to organize now that are major projects are closing!!  It officially feels like home when everything has it's place and is organized.

I hope your enjoying a few nice days, we have a blizzard coming to us tomorrow!
